The Circa Resort & Casino on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas has a dream: to build the greatest swimming pool the world has ever known. Halfway through the construction process, the Circa plans to top off their casino with a giant swimming pool / entertainment complex. The planned outdoor swim zone will combine a multi-tiered pool complex with the layout of an amphitheater, complete with grassy sun decks, cabanas, and a giant multimedia screen for sports and musical events.

A Destination Pool

Casino developer Derek Stevens envisions the swimming pool at the Circa Resort & Casino as a “destination pool” which tourists add to their Vegas bucket list. “This is going to be a great venue to watch sports, a great place to catch sun, a great place to listen to music,” Stevens said, “and a great place for product launches.”

The Circa pool will encompass a multi-tiered pool amphitheater with several pools, a 134 x 41 foot video screen, 30 cabanas, 38 day beds, and 337 chaise lounges. The pool area will be open 365 days a year thanks to a specialized temperature control system. The pool will accommodate up to 4,000 people per day.

“We’re trying to build what I would consider to be the greatest pool in the history of the world,” Stevens said.

Circa 2020

The Circa’s aquatic entertainment experience is part of a larger hotel casino mega-resort currently under construction on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas. Part of the original Las Vegas casino district before the Las Vegas Strip, Downtown Vegas serves as a budget-friendly alternative to the glitz and glamour of the Strip.

Circa is due to open at the end of 2020, and the 458-feet-tall, 1.25-million-sq.ft., 777-room hotel resort casino will be the tallest building in downtown Las Vegas. The Circa’s entertainment arsenal includes the massive pool complex, the largest sportsbook screen in history, and the longest downtown outdoor bar beneath the Fremont Street Experience canopy. The enclosed glass canopy covers Fremont Street in a dazzling display of lighting known as Viva Vision.

The Circa Casino is also the first gaming resort to be built from the ground-up in Downtown Las Vegas since 1980. All of the other casinos there were the original landmark casinos which had been totally renovated as part of the new Fremont Street Experience.
