tiger palace casino

Located on the border of India and Nepal, the Tiger Palace Resort officially opened its door on December 18, 2017, and celebrated with a New Year’s Eve 2018 grand opening party. This statement was released from the developer and operator of the casino, Silver Heritage Group:

“Tiger Palace Resort Bhairahawa is open and set to have with its New Year’s Eve celebration in 2018 to be held on December 21,” said the announcement.

An Amazing Start to an Even Better Year

While the Tiger Palace is brand new, the casino is expecting nothing less than an amazing year. Seeing that it’s located adjacent to Uttar Pradesh, a state in India that has a population of over 200 million peope and not one casino in sight, Tiger Palace has lots of confidence that business will certainly continue to flourish.

The casino resort is 26,597 square feet and reportedly features 52 gaming tables, 100 hotel rooms, and 200 slot machines. Tiger Palace also expects customers from other towns located close to Uttar Pradesh including Delhi, Bihar, and West Bengal. With an airport only 12 kilometers away from Bhairahawa, the posh casino is sure to expect some of its most affluent customers yet.

Major Delays Made for The Perfect Finished Product

Building the casino was no easy feat, as the initial opening had been delayed and the budget greatly expanded. While initially there was a budget of $39.9 million, to complete construction meant spending an extra $14.8 million, which brought the total to $54.5 million. These great budget changes came after the company moved forward with new management as well as new project plans, as released in a statement:

“A new project management team has been appointed, and new project management measures have been implemented. The company requires US$14.8 m of new capital to open Tiger Palace,” they stated. “The opening will be in stages from August 2017 with the Hotel to the Resort & Casino Grand Opening in November 2017. The company is finalizing its structure by which it will raise capital.”

The opening of the casino also brought about a great opportunity for job seekers as 1,800 jobs were provided. Launch phase one of the casino, also known as the soft opening, which was on September 20, 2017, and included the availability of two luxury villas, 100 hotel rooms, a spa, gym, a pool, a retail space, and facilities made for conferences and meetings.

More Celebrations to Come

As previously stated, it’s taken quite a lot of effort to bring the Tiger Palace to fruition.  However, despite the opening delays, major changes, and an expanded budget, Silver Heritage Group is strongly considering building another casino in Nepal, this time near the border of Bihar.

“We are humbled and by the dedication and support of all those people involved in designing, developing, building, completing and finally opening Tiger Palace Resort Bhairahawa,” Managing Director and President Mike Bolsover tells GGRAsia. “The future is indeed bright for the company and for the people of Nepal and tourism in this country.”

Bolsover adds that overall he is satisfied and thankful to everyone who helped to make the lavish casino a reality, saying:

“The Chairman and board of directors of Silver Heritage Group Limited and I are extraordinarily grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life including the committed and supportive shareholders in Silver Heritage Group Limited and the citizens and the government of Nepal.”

All in all, the lavish casino is certainly a success, and will only continue to see increased business and revenue in the coming days.
