Want to make a living as a professional blackjack dealer? You may be in lady luck, as the Gun Lake Casino has partnered with the Grand Rapid’s Community College (GRCC) to provide Michigan State’s first official Blackjack Dealer Academy.

The 3-part training program will run for 48 hours and cover everything needed to become a fully-fledged blackjack dealer. Only student’s aged 21 and over with a high school diploma or equivalent will be eligible to take part. Enrolling is subject to a $25 fee with Gun Lake Casino covering the rest of the costs.

Those who complete the training will be rewarded with a certificate of completion from the academy, and Gun Lake are guaranteeing 25 jobs for newly qualified dealers if they pass the audition and secure a gaming license. From that point, employees have the opportunity to make up to $41,600 a year in a full-time position.

There are 12 spaces left according to the official website, so if you’re a local who meets the criteria and are looking for a physically tiring and often thankless career where you have to deal with drunk, angry players all night – head over to GRCC and discover your calling!
