Vegas Thanksgiving

2020: a year to be remembered in infamy. While the pandemic swept the globe and politicians fumbled for words, many of us were forced to take shelter from the viral storm. Still, we have a lot to be thankful for, as a vaccine is just over the horizon.

The casino industry has been dealt an especially terrible hand this year as well. Las Vegas casinos are famous for fine dining, and this year’s Thanksgiving meals are no different – except for the option of takeaway service. The following Vegas eateries offer up a veritable horn of plenty this Thanksgiving, so stuff a napkin down your shirt, slide up to the table, and dig in!

Thanksgiving in Downtown Las Vegas

The original Las Vegas action happened downtown, and after a recent facelift, Downtown Vegas is bringing the action back to the city center. The famous Fremont Street Experience dazzles visitors under a giant canopy of LED screens and the newest casinos in Vegas, including Circa.

For a taste of Thanksgiving in the heart of vintage Vegas, check out these Downtown Vegas restaurants for an unforgettable feast. Please note that due to changing coronavirus restrictions, some restaurants offer takeaway service only. Call ahead to confirm dinner options.

Oscar’s Steakhouse

Located at the Plaza in Downtown Vegas, Oscar’s Steakhouse is ready to talk turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. You can order a 3-course menu specially prepared for Thanksgiving for $65. Start off with some butternut squash soup with burgundy truffle, ease into the main course with a traditional turkey entrée of sous vide turkey breast, confit leg and thigh, and top it off with maple pumpkin pie or chocolate pecan pie for a sweet finish.

Siegel’s 1941

Hop over to Fremont East for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for a reasonable price. Siegel’s 1941 offers tossed green salad or roasted butternut squash soup, roasted tom turkey with giblet gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and green beans as the main course.

You can also choose to have Smithfield Ham with brandy-pineapple sauce, sweet potatoes, and green beans amandine instead of turkey. Finish your feast with a choice of either fresh baked pumpkin, pecan, or apple pie.

The price for the feast is $26.95, or $21.95 with an El Cortez casino card. And that’s a sweet deal!

SoulBelly BBQ

For a Thanksgiving feast with serious soul, venture further along Fremont to the art’s district’s debut popup Thanksgiving takeaway dinner at SoulBelly BBQ. Chef Bruce Kalman is offering a preview tasting of his restaurant opening next year.

Savor some slow-smoked turkey served with mashed potatoes, cranberry chutney, green chile, cheddar corn casserole, buttered green beans with crispy onions, and maple-marshmallow yams. The feast comes with Hawaiian rolls and aioli and pumpkin, apple, or chocolate-pecan pie.

The cost of the full Thanksgiving meal is $49 with the option to add additional pies, and ordering is done through Secret Burger.

Thanksgiving on the Las Vegas Strip

For those who want to stay along the main drag, venture out to the following dining establishments along the Las Vegas Strip for a sumptuous Thanksgiving feast that will have you giving thanks to the chef.

The following Strip eateries offer Thanksgiving with a twist: from French flair to country steakhouse faire – and everything in between. By now all reservations will have been fully booked but contact them asap for a chance to pre-order and pick up your fancy feast.

Mon Ami Gabi

For a French twist on Thanksgiving, the famous patio at Mon Ami Gabi in Paris Las Vegas offers a view of the Bellagio fountains. Choose from a dinner plate combo or a 4-course prix fixe menu for $35.95 or $49.95.

Dine on herb-roasted turkey with caramelized yams, cornbread stuffing, and vanilla-cranberry relish. You can also upgrade your feast with smoked salmon with fairytale pumpkin soup, pumpkin bread pudding, and a pecan chocolate tart. Takeaway options are also available.

Virgil’s Real BBQ

Smoke is the word, and smoked turkey is what’s on the menu at Virgil’s Real BBQ in the LINQ. For the perfect takeaway family feast, Virgil’s offers up a Southern-style Thanksgiving meal for 6-8 people for $265. That includes an 18-pound smoked turkey with cornbread, sausage, and pecan stuffing; sweet potatoes with marshmallows; candied Brussels sprouts; creole green beans; cranberry sauce; and pumpkin or apple pie.

Frankly, Virgil: you had us at ‘smoked turkey.’

Oyster Bar

For those who are not into traditional Thanksgiving meals or turkey in general, why not ditch the turf and hit the surf? The Oyster Bar at Harrah’s is reeling in their special Thanksgiving oysters with cranberry puree and panko stuffing with bacon. A batch of Thanksgiving oysters comes at $20.99 for a half-dozen and $40.99 for a full dozen.

Or you can go full turkey jacket with a Thanksgiving platter of roast turkey, sweet potato casserole, Brussels sprouts, apple-sausage stuffing, and cranberry relish. Or do surf and turf with maple salmon with candied walnuts. Sweeten the deal with an apple or pumpkin pie or a pecan crumble. The roast turkey dinner is $29.99, salmon dinner is $33.99, and desserts are $8.99 each.

Old Homestead Steakhouse

And for something completely different: Old Homestead Steakhouse at Ceasar’s Palace is whipping up some gourmet fixings for their holiday feast. Choose from roasted bone marrow with apple, bacon onion jam, and charred sourdough toast or butternut squash soup with truffle crème fraiche.

Move on to the main dish of butter & herb roasted turkey breast with apple sausage and sage stuffing, served with tangerine cranberry sauces. Sides include glazed root vegetables and crispy Brussels sprouts, and the desserts include pumpkin spice cheesecake or pecan pie bar. The cost of the feast is $89 per person.

Majordōmo Meat & Fish

If you want a Thanksgiving feast artfully crafted by a celebrity chef, David Chang has got you covered at his Majordōmo Meat & Fish restaurant in the Venetian.

Start with a seafood plateau with king crab and other fruits of the sea and market salad with palm sugar vinaigrette. Move on to the mains with a choice of smoked prime rib, truffle macaroni, or Sichuan peppercorn black bean striped sea bass. Top it off with a whole sweet potato pie for a cost of $118 per person.

If you miss out on the Thanksgiving feast, fret not: David Chang is offering his holiday feast until December 28, so you might be able to order in time for a very merry Christmas indeed.
