Why Play at New Jersey Online Casinos?

Better odds

Online casinos in New Jersey face serious competition from their land-based counterparts in Atlantic City as well as neighboring states such as Pennsylvania. As a result of this intense competition, online casino odds tend to be significantly better than their brick and mortar competitors. While you won’t get free drinks, when you play roulette, craps, blackjack, video poker or slots at New Jersey online casinos, you’ll definitely find pay out ratios that are far superior to their more traditional competition.

Safe and secure

New Jersey online casinos are thoroughly regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, as a result of such through oversight, players can rest assured that all online casinos in New Jersey utilize only the highest industry standard security protocols, together with rigid data protection measures, to ensure that your personal data always remains exactly that, yours and yours alone.

100% legal

The state of New Jersey first tried to legalize online gambling back in 2011. New legislation was then drafted in 2013 providing a 10-year trial period for online gambling in the state. The industry is defined by the Casino Control Act and all 24-hour internet gambling operations are overseen and regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. Game play is restricted to New Jersey residents only 21 years of age or older physically in the state, but the law does not specify a residency requirement.

Bonuses

To compete with their brick and mortar counterparts, New Jersey online casinos offer a wealth of different bonus offers you’ll never find in a land-based casino. New Jersey law allows the state’s online casinos to offer free money in the form of welcome bonuses, matching funds, free spins, free chips and other special bonus offers as a way of facilitating competition and enticing gamblers to play and stay on their individual sites.

More games

While land-based casinos are constricted by the amount of legal gambling floor space and table games they can offer under their license agreements, the sky’s the limit when it comes to online casino games. This means you get a far greater selection of state-of-the-art games at lower starting limits than you’d find at a traditional brick and mortar casino. With new games added as soon as they are created and the ability for players to change games and sites at the click of a mouse, the possibilities for varying your play are seemingly endless.

How We Review New Jersey Online Casinos

Here at USA Online Casino we’re in the business of keeping you in the know. We work closely with the best and the brightest in the online gambling sector to make sure we bring you only the most up-to-date information and reviews available.
Our team of online casino experts scours the web in search of the best casinos out there today and our overview of the New Jersey online casino market and individual casino reviews are no exception.

So, how do we actually separate the wheat from the chaff, you might wonder? In all honesty, our rigorous process is designed to make sure that all the casinos we present here meet or exceed our exacting standards in a number of categories before we even proceed to the review. Once we have identified a casino we might want to review, our process moves in three main steps as follows:

1. We always start with a thorough safety and background check

Now more than ever before, in this age of massive Facebook data looting and rampant identity theft, we completely understand the importance of dealing with reputable partners who will always do their best to completely ensure your personal data is safe, secure and never shared with third parties unless required to do so by law.

Our first step is to look into a given casino’s licensing state, to make sure they are who they say they are and have the legal right to offer their services.

From there we look at their security protocols, to check to see that they have only the most rigorous, industry standard SSL protocols in place on completely secure servers as well as internal rules ensuring the privacy of your personal data.

Finally, we look at the casino’s history. We search the news looking for fines or lawsuits that would indicate something less than a completely legitimate and above the board operator.

2. We assess the viability of deposit and withdrawal methods

Now more than ever before, in this age of massive Facebook data looting and rampant identity theft, we completely understand the importance of dealing with reputable partners who will always do their best to completely ensure your personal data is safe, secure and never shared with third parties unless required to do so by law.

Finally, we look at the casino’s history. We search the news looking for fines or lawsuits that would indicate something less than a completely legitimate and above the board operator.

3. We take an in-depth look at their games selection and bonuses

At this stage in our review process we really roll up our sleeves and get down to business. We make a deposit with the casino under consideration and then proceed to play a selection of games in each of their available games categories. This regularly includes roulette, blackjack, video poker, craps and a large cross section of 3-reel, 5-reel and 3D slots.

In doing so we use either new player welcome bonuses or match bonuses to gauge how easy and effective their bonus system is to use when at the cashier, and how easy it is to withdrawal winnings from said system if we’re having a good day.

Obviously, the easier and faster their bonus and cash out systems work, the higher the ranking the casino receives in this category.

The Ins and Outs of New Jersey’s Online Gambling Law

History

Legalized online gambling was first proposed by Raymond Lesniak, a New Jersey state senator, in 2010 who drafted Senate, No. 3167, a law designed to allow casinos in Atlantic City to launch online gambling in the Garden State. The draft law specified that all online casino operators apply for a yearly license and that their servers and all related equipment be physically located in the state of New Jersey.

Unfortunately, after passing both the Senate and the House with substantial bi-partisan support, the bill was vetoed by Governor Chris Christi in an act that many critics charge was politically motivated.

On February 26, 2013 another version of the bill, A2578, was finally signed into law by Governor Christi, officially making online casino gambling legal in the state of New Jersey.
After a brief test period, the first online casino went live on November 26, 2013.

Legal specifics

The law contains a number of specifications. Foremost among them is that only licensed Atlantic City casinos can launch new online casino brands. Since that time, some 12 have done so and you’ll find reviews of the best of these online casinos right here at USA Online Casino.

The law also set a 15% tax on all online gambling revenue, up from 8% for Atlantic City’s land-based casinos.

There is also an additional 1.25% tax on top of the 15%, intended to be set aside for public works, jobs and other projects to benefit Atlantic City residents.

While New Jersey’s online casinos are directed at New Jersey residents, fortunately the law did not set a residency requirement. This means that visitors are more than welcome to play at New Jersey’s online casinos as long as they are physically in the state and that your account and all banking issues can be handled from anywhere in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska.

Regulatory goals

The New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement is the official regulator for all of the Garden State’s online and land-based casino games. Regulations were designed to attain three main goals.

The first is to generate increased tax revenues for the state of New Jersey by effectively exploiting and regulating, the growing online casino market.

The second aim, in light of a sluggish economy and major Atlantic City casino closures, is to boost the city’s existing land-based casino industry and revive the local economy.

The past decade or so has not been easy for Atlantic City. The closure of the Trump Taj Mahal in 2016 and The Revel in 2014 hit the city hard. The closures combined with increased competition from both Las Vegas and neighboring states such as Pennsylvania led to dwindling visitor numbers.

The introduction of legal online gambling was largely intended to stem the blood loss by giving the city’s existing casinos a new lifeline in terms of revenue. And, according to figures released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, it’s doing just that, adding well over $500 million in revenue to the city’s bottom line since legalization.

Finally, regulators aim to stem the tide of illegal offshore operators poaching New Jersey players. Unregulated and unlicensed casinos have pulled in millions of dollars from New Jersey players over the years. Legalization and regulation was intended to head this trend off at the pass, while offering state residents and visitors completely safe and secure places to gamble online.
